Memory & Privacy

Every lever here is real in this demo: things you delete are gone, pauses actually pause, and the export contains everything. Mori's memory only works one way — visibly.

Short-term context vs. long-term memory

Not everything you say becomes a memory. Mori holds session context — today's headache, Thursday's presentation — only until the conversation ends. Nothing moves to long-term memory without a reason you can read, and you can override either direction.

⏳ Short-term — expires with this session

  • You mentioned a dull headache this afternoon.

  • You're preparing for Thursday's presentation.

  • You asked for a “light” conversation day today.

📖 Long-term — the Atlas

26 entries, each with a stated reason for existing, its source conversation, and full controls on the card itself.

Everything remembered — and why

The complete list. No memory exists that isn't on it.

Why it's stored: You named it directly as a source of joy; Mori uses it to suggest genuinely restorative activities rather than generic ones.

Why it's stored: Direct statement of joy involving a named person, useful for understanding what connection looks like for you.

Why it's stored: A tentative pattern about what kind of accomplishment actually lands for you. Mori is watching whether it holds.

Why it's stored: Confirmed pattern; helps Mori ask the useful question (“is the ask unclear?”) instead of the obvious one (“is it too much?”).

Why it's stored: You named a recurring hard moment; Mori keeps Sunday check-ins gentler and never schedules planning talks then.

Why it's stored: Only two data points. Marked low confidence and kept under observation rather than treated as true.

Source conversations

Every memory traces back to a conversation. Deleting a source also deletes every memory that came from it — Mori keeps no orphaned conclusions.

⏸ Pause memory

Mori keeps talking with you but forms no new long-term memories until you resume. A banner stays visible the whole time — pausing is never silent.

🕊 Don't remember this conversation

Marks the current conversation off the record: nothing said in it is stored, quoted later, or used as evidence for any hypothesis.

📦 Export your archive

Download everything — memories, evidence, preferences, sources — as a single readable file. What's in the file is all there is.

🔥 Delete all data

Erases every memory, observation, and source. The Atlas goes blank. Mori starts over as a stranger — truly, not theatrically.

Individual memories can be corrected, hidden, or deleted directly on their cards in My Atlas.
